MUSE "BLACK HOLES AND REVELATIONS": PIOSENKI OCENIONE DO NAJLEPSZEJ - Gigwise

Trudno uwierzyć, że minęło już 9 lat od wydania czwartej płyty Muse, Black Holes and Revelations, która była numerem jeden w Wielkiej Brytanii. Tak 9 lat - wszyscy się starzejemy. Oprócz jednej rzeczy, która nigdy tego nie robi - ten niesamowity, prawie bezbłędny album.


11. Invincible 

11. 'Invincible': A great song with a cute video and all, but of all Muse tracks, this feels like the one most intentionally written to inspire fist-pumps, lighters and stadium silliness. Sure, it's pretty glorious live, but it makes for the weakest moment on a consistently brilliant album.

Świetna piosenka ze słodkim teledyskiem. Tak, wykonanie jej na żywo brzmi wspaniale, ale sprawia wrażenie najsłabszego momentu na płycie.


10. Hoodoo
10. 'Hoodoo': Picking up where 'Darkshines' left off with its Hispanic guitar sound, this cinematic Ennio Morricone-esque lament that shows an intimate window into Bellamy's soul and existential crisis before it builds into an EPIC piano crescendo would have been the highlight and centre-piece of most albums (because it's awesome), but is just one of many peaks on BHAR.

Początkowa Ennio Morricone-owska elegia w utworze, pokazuje kameralne okno na duszę Bellamy'iego, zanim wejdzie epickie fortepianowe crescendo, które jest główną atrakcją w większości albumów grupy (ponieważ to jest świetne), jednak jest tylko jednym z wielu szczytujących piosenek na BHaR.


9. Soldier's Poem
9. 'Soldier's Poem': It's like Muse's take on 'Unchained Melody', but about the conflict of being sent off to war for a country you love but for an unjust cause, which is cool.

To tak jakby zespół stworzył "Unchained Melody", lecz o wysłaniu człowieka, z niesprawiedliwej przyczyny, na wojnę za kraj, który kocha.


8. Assassin
8. 'Assassin': A fast-shredding, brutal rocker about the mindset of terrorists in the modern age, but all of the elements make it feel a little too 'Muse by numbers'. Still a cracker though, but we prefer the Grand Omega Bosses Edit of the track for a more dynamic ending and beefier sound. Hats off to Dom for them drums, though.


Szybka, brutalna, rockowa o sposobie myślenia terrorysty w czasach współczesnych. Miażdży, jednak my preferujemy wersję Grand Omega Bosses Edit piosenki. Czapki z głów dla Doma, za perkusję. 


7. Exo-Politics 
7. 'Exo-Politics': Inspired by Franz Ferdinand, this is Muse at their grooviest. More of this please. Oh, and WHAT a chorus.


Zainspirowane zespołem Franz Ferdinand. To jest co Muse robią najlepiej. Więcej tego, proszę. Mmm i co za refren!


6. Take a Bow
6. 'Take A Bow': It's a shame they don't play this much any more, its more or less the perfect album opener. The synth arpeggio build up locks you in before a spiteful tirade against George Bush explodes:


To wstyd, że nie grają tego często. Perfekcyjny otwieracz albumu. To arpeggio syntezatora, które sprawia, że się blokujesz przed złośliwą tyradą, przeciwko George Bushowi: "Przynosisz korupcję, wszystkiemu, czego dotkniesz, SPALISZ SIĘ W PIEKLE ZA SWOJE GRZECHY!".


5. Starlight
5. 'Starlight': Probably Muse's most radio-friendly single, few thought that Muse could have channelled Abba and Eurovision with such aplomb. All together now:


Prawdopodobnie najbardziej radiowy singiel Muse. Kilka razy myśleliśmy, że grupa, mogłaby wystąpić na Eurowizji z zimną krwią. Teraz wszyscy razem: "I JUST WANTED TO HOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLDDDDD....."


4. City of Delusion
4. 'City Of Delusion': Arguably Muse's most underrated album track, this orchestral-tinged prog-rock operatic epic is to BHAR what 'Citizen Erased' was to Origin Of Symmetry, and deserves it's place in Muse's live sets today. PLAY IT MORE PLEASE.


Możliwe, że najbardziej niedoceniana piosenka zespołu z tej płyty. To orkiestralne zabarwienie, połączone z prog-rockiem jest takie wspaniałe dla BHaR, jak Citizen Erazed dla Origin of Symmetry, i zasługuje na wykonywanie tego teraz na koncertach przez Muse. GRAJCIE TO CZĘŚCIEJ, PROSZĘ.


3. Map of The Problematique
3. 'Map Of The Problematique': It's essentially their take on Depeche Mode's 'Enjoy The Silence', which was only ever going to be wonderful - and boy, is it. Each band member's part is rather understated, but adds up to something HUGE.


Istotnie, zespół wziął inspirację z "Enjoy the Silence" Depeche Mode, więc utwór musiał stać się niesamowity. I taki też jest. Ogółem, partia, którą każdy z członków ma do zagrania, jest zaniżona, lecz wspólne wykonanie tego, sprawia, że piosenka staje się czymś WIELKIM.


2. Knights Of Cydonia
2. 'Knights Of Cydonia': One of those rare incredible tracks that's perfect for both giving a show an explosive opening, or ending on an almighty high. This space-rock magnum opus where Ennio Morricone meets Queen and Star Wars is probably the best song about war on Mars that you'll ever hear.


Jeden z tych rzadkich i niesamowitych utworów, które dają perfekcyjne otwarcie koncertu lub jego zamknięcie. To kosmiczno-rockowe, wybitne dzieło, gdzie Ennio Morricone spotyka Queen oraz Star Wars, jest prawdopodobnie najlepszą piosenką o wojnie na Marsie.


1. Supermassive Black Hole
1. 'Supermassive Black Hole': It may totally ape the sound of underrated Belgian stoner-rockers Millionaire (something the band themselves admit) but that menacing combo of Marilyn Manson and Prince makes for Muse's sexiest moment, most accessible and awesome single. The true highlight of BHAR that exploded their worldwide appeal and made them stadium kings without diluting their essence.


Mogłoby to być totalnie zbłaznowany dźwięk, niedocenianej belgijskiej kapeli, Millionaire. Lecz połączenie Marilyna Mansona z Prince daje Muse najbardziej seksowny i niesamowity singiel. Zdecydowanie jest to kulminacyjny moment na BHaR, który przemienił ich w stadionowych królów.
